This is the classic Northern Circuit group camping safari. It adds Tarangire to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro combination, giving travelers three different wildlife environments in four days. Tarangire is particularly good for elephants and baobab landscapes, Serengeti provides the large plains and predator sightings, while Ngorongoro gives you a concentrated crater-floor wildlife experience.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Leave Arusha after breakfast and drive toward Tarangire. Once inside the park, begin the game drive. Tarangire is known for its large elephant population, huge baobab trees and seasonal wildlife concentrations. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas and many bird species. Continue the game drive through the afternoon before leaving the park for the campsite. Overnight: Migombani Campsite or similar campsite near Tarangire. Meals: Lunch & dinner.
After breakfast, drive toward Serengeti. The route passes through the Ngorongoro highlands before descending toward the Serengeti plains. After entering Serengeti, begin an afternoon game drive. The first Serengeti drive can already produce good sightings of wildebeest, zebras, giraffes and predators. Overnight: Public campsite in Central Serengeti. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Today is dedicated almost entirely to Serengeti. Leave camp after breakfast with a packed lunch. Your guide will choose the game-drive area based on the season and wildlife movements. The day can include searches for lion prides, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, wildebeest and zebras. Return to camp in the late afternoon. Overnight: Public campsite in Central Serengeti. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Leave Serengeti after breakfast and travel toward Ngorongoro. Descend into the crater for the final major game drive. The crater is an enclosed ecosystem with a high concentration of wildlife, making it one of the best places on the Northern Circuit for a short game drive. After lunch, ascend from the crater and continue to Arusha.
