The Serengeti is the most famous park in Africa. It covers 14,750 square kilometers of grassland, savanna, and riverine forest. The wildlife is everywhere — lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and hundreds of bird species. The Great Migration passes through the park, with millions of wildebeest and zebras moving in search of fresh grass.
Four days gives you time to explore. You're not rushing from park to park. You're staying in one place and going deep. Your guide knows the park inside out — where the lions are resting, where the leopards are hiding, and where the herds are moving. This is a private safari, so the vehicle and guide are yours.
Ramadhani picks you up from your Arusha hotel at 6:00 AM. The drive to the Serengeti takes about six hours, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You stop at the crater rim for a view, then continue to Naabi Hill Gate.
You enter the Serengeti and begin your first game drive. The plains stretch out in front of you. The wildlife appears almost immediately — zebras, wildebeest, gazelles. By late afternoon, you check into Serengeti Tortilis Camp. The tents are comfortable, with proper beds and en-suite bathrooms.
You're up before sunrise. The morning game drive starts at first light, when the predators are most active. The light is soft and golden. You track lions, cheetahs, and leopards based on the morning radio reports from other guides.
You return to camp for breakfast, then head out again. The Serengeti is vast, and each area is different. You might spend the morning on the open plains, the afternoon in the riverine forest. Picnic lunch in the bush — thermos of coffee, sandwiches, windows down.
By sunset, you're back at camp. The animals start moving as the light fades. Dinner is served in the dining tent.
After breakfast, you drive north with packed lunches. The northern Serengeti is where the migration often crosses the Mara River. If the timing is right, you'll see wildebeest and zebras gathering on the banks, hesitating, then plunging into the water.
If the migration has moved on, the resident wildlife is still abundant — lions, leopards, elephants, and buffalo. The landscape changes as you drive north, becoming more hilly and dotted with rocky outcrops. You stop for lunch under a tree.
By late afternoon, you drive back to camp. The light is different on the return — longer shadows, deeper colors.
Final sunrise game drive. One last chance to see the wildlife in the golden light. The predators are still active, the herds are still moving. You take the time to absorb the sights and sounds.
Return to camp for breakfast, pack up, and start the drive back to Arusha. The drive takes about six hours, with a stop for lunch along the way. You pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area one last time. Drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro Airport.
The Serengeti is open year-round. The wildlife moves with the seasons.

Serengeti Tortilis Camp is a tented camp in the Serengeti. The tents are large, with proper beds and en-suite bathrooms. The camp has a dining tent and a bar. It's comfortable without being luxury.
The migration moves throughout the year. Your guide will know where the herds are and adjust your game drives accordingly. Depending on the timing, you may see river crossings or calving.
