7-Day Itinerary — Lemosho Route

Western approach with excellent acclimatization profile and stunning scenery.

Day 0
Arrival in Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to Moshi hotel. Meet guide, equipment check, gear rentals if needed.

Day 1
Moshi to Big Tree Camp (Lemosho Route)

Transfer to Lemosho Gate, registration, start trek through forest to Big Tree Camp (7 km, approx. 4 hours). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 2
Big Tree Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Trek across plateau of moorland, gaining altitude, with views of Kibo and the Northern Ice Fields (16.5 km, approx. 9-11 hours). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3
Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp

Ascent with panoramic views, passing Lava Tower, then descent to Barranco Camp (10 km, approx. 7 hours). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 4
Barranco to Karanga Camp

Cross Barranco Ravine, climb Great Barranco Wall, then ascend to Karanga Camp, with optional acclimatization hike (5.5 km, approx. 5 hours). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 5
Karanga to Barafu Camp

Trek to high camp at 4640m (3 km, approx. 3 hours). Rest and prepare for summit night. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

Day 6
Summit Attempt & Descent to Mweka Camp

Midnight start for summit via Stella Point to Uhuru Peak, then descend to Mweka Camp (16.4 km, 13-15 hours). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 7
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate & Return to Moshi

Gentle descent, park formalities, certificate, and transfer back to Moshi. Overnight at hotel, celebrate achievement.

Departure
Onward Travel

Transfer to airport for your onward journey (safari, Zanzibar, or home). Optional Zanzibar extension available.
